About this internship: Wells Fargo is offering a unique internship opportunity for PhD candidates passionate about Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. This internship is designed to allow students to continue their research journey while applying cutting-edge AI / ML / Generative AI techniques to real-world challenges in financial services.
In this role, you will: • Participate in research projects in AI / Generative AI / Agentic AI / Machine Learning, contributing to ideation, experimentation, and evaluation.
• Explore and evaluate emerging AI technologies that address real-world challenges in financial services.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including researchers, data scientists, engineers, and domain experts.
• Translate research insights into impactful business solutions, open-source contributions, patents, and publications.
• Support the development of innovative AI systems that enhance Wells Fargo's products, services, and operations.
• Publish in top-tier AI/ML conferences and journals and represent Wells Fargo in the broader AI research community.
Required Qualifications: - 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications: - PhD candidates must graduate in January 2027 or later.
- Currently enrolled in a PhD program in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
- Strong research background with publications in top-tier AI/ML conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, NAACL, or EMNLP.
